John "Peter" Ciolli, Sr.

John “Peter” Ciolli, Sr., 87, of North Providence, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Pauline E. (Nozolino) Ciolli. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Lucia (DeQuattro) Ciolli.
John has worked as a Supply Manager for the State of Rhode Island and previously as a Liquor Salesman. He also worked for Eagle Floor Resurfacing, a business owned by his father. A WWII Army Veteran, he was a member of the Lymansville Memorial VFW Post 10011 of North Providence and was Past President of the North Providence Lyons. He was also an avid golfer, a member of the Johnston Senior Bowling League and the Manton Senior Center.
Besides his wife of 53 years, he leaves two sisters, Edith D’Alfonso and her husband, Victor and Rose Groccia and her husband Armando and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John P. Ciolli, Jr. and the brother of the late Angelina Poulios.
Visitation Wednesday morning from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence, RI 02911.
