John J. Palombo

July 14, 1954 — May 15, 2013

JOHN J. PALOMBO, 58, of Smithfield, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lois A. (Fabrizio) Palombo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna (Palumbo) Palombo.

He worked as a manager for Stop & Shop for 42 years, most recently in Lincoln. He was a volunteer at the St Anthony Church Soup Kitchen in North Providence.

John was compassionate, nurturing, patient and understanding. He loved spending time with his family and many friends. He will be sadly missed by all that were fortunate to have known him.

Besides his wife of 38 years, he leaves his cherished children, Christopher Palombo and Katy Palombo and his sister, Linda Barletta and her husband, Frank. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Devan and Landon whom he also leaves and was the son-in-law of the late Raymond and Concetta (Morra) Fabrizio.

His funeral will be held Monday, May 20, 2013 at 8 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Ave., Greenville. Visitation Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. P.O.
