John McAllister, 85, of Johnston, passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Florence (Ferri) McAllister. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John B. and Anna (Szmit) McAllister.
John had worked for the State of Rhode Island as a boiler technician at the State House and the Veterans Memorial Auditorium until retiring in 1990. He was also an instructor at the Rhode Island Radio and Electronics School as well as a Navy and Coast Guard Veteran of World War II.
He leaves a daughter, Joyce Adams; a granddaughter, Adell Adams and two brothers, Thomas and Joseph S. McAllister.
Visitation Monday 4-7 p.m., at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Funeral and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to your favorite charity.
