John Francis “Uncle Jack” Guidotti, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 on his 90th birthday. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Guido and Lena (Cola) Guidotti and was the eldest grandchild of the late John and Marianna Cola.
Growing up in the Mount Pleasant section of Providence, John was most proud of his loving family with whom he worked for years in the family business, John Cole’s Ice Cream on Atwells Ave. He was a corporal in the US Army serving during World War II. John was also a dedicated employee of the Outlet Company in Providence, managing the custom-made drapery department for over 30 years, before retiring.
He is survived by his sister, Anna M. Masiello, his loving nieces, Karla M. Masiello of Cumberland and Angelyn M. Masiello of Smithfield and his great nephew, Steven M. Allard. He was also the beloved Uncle of the late Donna M. Allard and the brother in law of the late Frank Masiello. John is also survived by his loving cousins and godchildren with whom he was very close.
Visitation Friday morning 8:15 am to 9:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 70 Bath St., Providence, RI 02908.
