John "Jack" Emerson

JOHN “JACK” E. EMERSON, 56, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Carmela A. (Paglia) Emerson for 29 years. Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Mary Jane (Cullen) Emerson.
Jack was Assistant Vice President at Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI where he had worked for over 35 years before retiring. He served on the Board of Directors for McAuley Ministries and the Sisters of Mercy, was a volunteer at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church and Coached North Providence Youth Soccer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jesse Emerson and Ryan Emerson; a brother, Donald P. Emerson and his wife Barbara of Smithfield; a sister, Judith Fagan of North Providence; a sister-in-law, Carol Ritchie of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be private. Visitation respectfully omitted. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or American Lung Association of RI, 260 W Exchange St #102B, Providence, RI 02903.
