DiCOSTANZO, John R. DiCostanzo, 53, of North Smithfield, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Kim (Iadimarco) DiCostanzo. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria (Calise) DiCostanzo.
He was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Gian R. DiCostanzo and his daughter, Talia M. DiCostanzo; a brother, Frank P. DiCostanzo of East Rochester, NY; and two sisters, Theresa D. Zenone of Wrentham, MA; and Genoveffa DiCostanzo-Chin of Cranston.
John was the owner and operator of Cozy Quarters Pet Inn and the former owner of Touch of Class Dog Salon. He devoted his life to the care of animals and was in the kennel and grooming business for over 38 years. He was the former president and served on the board of directors for the New England Pet Grooming Professionals. He was also a member of the National Dog Groomers’ Association.
He most enjoyed seeing his children perform for the community and was extremely proud of Gian and Talia for all of their accomplishments. He lived his life with passion, charity, and love for family, friends, animals, and all those with whom he shared his life.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday at 9 am from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Jude Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation hours are Wednesday 4-8 pm.
