John Ciolli, 80, of Providence, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007 at home. He was the beloved husband of Lucretia ( Celeberto) Ciolli. A lifelong resident of Providence, he was the son of the late Domenic and Michelina (Leone) Ciolli.

John had worked as a truck driver for John J. Hudson Company for 29 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 251. He served his Country in the Army during WWII and was an avid wrestling fan. A communicant of St. Thomas Church in Providence, he was also a greeter and usher at the church. He was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather and great grandfather.

Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves a daughter, Michelina “Micki” Ciolli; four sisters, Carrie Maglio, Gloria Giordino, Dorothy Ciolli and Lena Reynolds; two grandchildren, Stacy and Thomas Iasimone and a great grandson, Nicholas Iasimone.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home,1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to American Heart Association, 222 Richmond St., Providence, RI 02903
