John B. Grossi, 55, of North Providence, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Azzoli) Grossi. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Bernard D. and Joan D. (Richard) Grossi.
He was the owner and operator of Grossi Allstate Insurance Agency of Johnston. An avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, he was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hiking, skiing and also enjoyed reading and music.
John was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather. Besides his wife of 31 years, he is survived by a son, Matthew J. Grossi; a daughter, Melanie R. Grossi; a brother, B. Donald Grossi, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Cantone and Elizabeth Ann Grossi and a grandson, Lorenzo.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. VISITATION Monday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
