Joanne F. Tagliatela

JOANNE F. (CALISE) TAGLIATELA, 92, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Diamond Tagliatela. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie C. (Votta) Calise.

Mrs. Tagliatela worked in jewelry manufacturing for many years and later worked for Almacs Supermarket. She was a founding member of the Sutton Street Girls.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia M. Schiappa; a son, David P. Tagliatela; four grandchildren, Michael Schiappa, Alisa Schiappa-Gobee, Daniel Tagliatela and Alexander Tagliatela; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Calise. She was the sister of the late Paul Calise and John Calise Jr.

Her funeral will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION SUNDAY 3-6 p.m. Please omit flowers.
