Jay G. Filuminia, 46, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Virginia M. (Eagan) Filuminia and the beloved father of Rachel Ann Filuminia. Born in Cranston, he was the son of Giuseppe "Joseph" Filuminia and the late Marie (Godin) Filuminia.

Jay had worked as a truck driver for Estes Inc. and Rand-Whitney. He was an avid frisby golfer and had an unquenchable thirst for music. He was one of the founding members of Northern RI Home Brewers Guild, having his own brewmaster labratory. Jay had a love for family and friends and found great joy in in spending time with them.

Besides his wife, daughter and father, he leaves a brother, Stephen M. Filuminia; four sisters, Marie J. Fisher, Jo-Ann Michaelson and her husband Robert, Susan R. Brunette and her husband Andrew and Paula J. Brennan and her husband Chuck; his beloved mother and father-in-law, Martha Rose (Kelly) Eagan and James J. Eagan; a sister-in-law, Martha A. Schweitzer: two brothers-in-law, Richard J. Schweitzer and James J. Eagan and his nieces and nephews, Donna Boyajian, Michael D'Amico, Steven Filuminia, Justin Michaelson, Joshua Brennan, Kara Brunette, Danielle Filuminia, Jared Filuminia, Erik Schweitzer, Lindsay Schweitzer, Sarah Schweitzer, Jovi Angell, David Filuminia, Mya, Tonio and Jacob. He was the brother of the late Alfred J. Filuminia and Joseph Filuminia, Jr. and the uncle of the late Anthony Filuminia. Special friends have been plentiful in Jay's short life, some of whom are: Al Miller, Jim Mello, Steve and Stephanie Larivee, John and Rhonda Wilson, Michael Lamoine, Bruce, Jeff, Hoppy, Dan, Jeffrey, Mike, Tony, Susie "Bagels", Jackie, Chet, Vinny and Kim, Lisa and George, Ron and Gale, Bob and Charlene, Scotty, Dave, Bill and Jim L. He also had close family ties with Chris Galipeau, JoAnn, Sean and Edwin, and his faitful beer drinking companion, Cooper. To those we have missed, you are not forgotten.

All are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday morning, July 17, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Please join Jay's Family beginning Saturday following the service at the American Legion Post #56, Veazie St., Providence to continue the celebration of his life. This will be a service for an "Open Jam" so please bring instruments and lets make some Noise!!! In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center, 55 Summer St., Rehoboth, MA 02769.
