James "Rocky" Vota

JAMES “ROCKY” VOTA, 64, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Ernestine (Ascoli) Vota for 38 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edith (Chace) Vota.

Mr. Vota worked for the Providence School Department for many years before retiring. He was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother, John Vota; a sister Norma Mignella and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William “Butch” Vota, Donald Vota, Charlotte Pepper and Shirley Carrara.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be private. VISITATION TUESDAY 4-7 p.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Vota’s memory may be made to St. Patrick Academy, 244 Smith St., Providence, RI 02908.
