James "Jim" Johnson

January 25, 1938 — August 22, 2013

James E. Johnson “Jim”, 75 passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Gladys (Caputo) Johnson. They were happily married for 52 years.
Born in Indiana, he was the son of the late Marion and Mary (White) Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was employed as a Senior Industrial Engineer for Titleist for many years before his retirement. He served in the Navy and the Army Reserve. He was a member of the RI Society Sons of the American Revolution, Knights of Columbus, Dillion Council #3563, Lillian Feinstein Senior Center, American Legion, American Philatelic Society and the New England Historic Genealogical Society. Jim was an avid Red Sox Fan.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Patricia
Johnson-Pinto, Pamela Johnson, Joseph (Johnson) Noury and Daniel Johnson and his wife Julie; sisters, Ruth Belcher of Lake Worth, FL., and Mary Shannon of Monticello, FL, and brothers, Kenneth Johnson of Greer, South Carolina and Marion Johnson, Jr. of Alabama. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Pinto, Burgandy Rose Johnson, Joseph and Shyan (Johnson) Noury.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be Monday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Cranston Animal Shelter, 920 Phenix Avenue, Cranston, RI 02921.
