James J. Eagan Jr.

James J. Eagan, Jr., 84, of Smithfield, passed away, Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Providence VA Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha R. (Kelly) Eagan. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late James J. Eagan, Sr. and Mary (O’Brien) Eagan.

James was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.

A loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by a son, James M. Eagan; two daughers, Martha A. Schweitzer and Virginia M. Filuminia; a brother, Edward Eagan; a sister, Virginia Eagan-Stout; six grandchildren, Erik, Lindsey and Sarah Schweitzer, Rachel Filuminia, Edwin Rainey and Sean Eagan; and his three great-grandchildren, Conner, MacKenzie and Hunter. He was the brother of the late Marcella Eagan.

Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories and condolences at James’ Commital Service that will be celebrated on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Columbarium Commital Center at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
