Irene W. DiSarro, 88, of Providence, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph A. DiSarro. Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Caroline ( Vrages ) Wolk.
Irene has worked as an administrator for the US Civil Service in Boston. She later became active in the operation of her family businesses, LaSalle Pharmacy and Delta Drug. She was a devoted communicant of St. Pius Church.
She leaves two cousins, Helena Cholowinski and Jozesa Weglinski; a brother-in- law, Eugene E. DiSarro, Sr. and a sister-in-law, Etta J. Sciorra; many nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Dottie Schiano. She was the sister of the late Walter Wolk.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Pius Church, Eaton St. Providence. VISITATION Tuesday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to St. Adalbert Church, 866 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
