Ida McManus

IDA (DePASQUALE) McManus, 97, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francis H. McManus. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Giustina (Marina) DePasquale.

Mrs. McManus had worked as an Administrative Secretary for the Providence Public Library before retiring. She was an Army Veteran of World War II.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Frances Zammarelli and her husband Louis; a cherished grandson, Frank Zammarelli; one brother, Joseph DePasquale; a sister, Dorothy Cerra and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William, Vincent and Carmine “Zeke” DePasquale, Esther Quatrucci, Lillian Leite, Helen McIntyre, Viola Rianna and Mary Lombardi.

Her funeral will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Due to her daughter and son-in-laws long affiliation with youth baseball, donations in her memory may be made to the North Providence – Smithfield Babe Ruth League, 40 Power Rd., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
