Ida Balassone

Ida (Bertoldi) Balassone, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Hopkins Manor Ltd. She was the wife of the late Panfilo Balassone. Born in Sulmona, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Maria (Imperatore) Bertoldi.

Mrs. Balassone worked for Crest Craft for many years before retiring. She was an avid New England Patriots Fan.

She is survived by her two sons, Franco Balassone and his wife Elena and Angelo Balassone and his wife Debra; a brother, Pasquale Bertoldi; a sister, Francesca Marinucci; six grandchildren, Rebecca Visaggio, Bianca, Angelo, Marco, Dante and Nadia Balassone; and two great grandchildren; Joanna and Gino. She was the sister of the late Giovanna Amore.

Visitation will be held Thursday Morning July 7, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston. Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery Mausoleum, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Balassone’s memory may be made to Hopkins Manor Activities Fund, 610 Smithfield Rd.
