Helen A. Lufkin (Pirozzi), 88, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Hopkins Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard W. Lufkin. Born in Medford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Gino and Amalia (Pitta) Pirozzi.
Mrs. Lufkin was a case aide worker at the Federal Hill House before retiring. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America.
She is survived by her son, Richard P. Lufkin of Providence; two sisters, Anna Hennessey of Vancouver, WA and Amalia Annese of Scituate, RI. She was the sister of the late Marie Pedersen.
Visitation Thursday morning 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Odyssey Healthcare of RI, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
