Guido Tortalano, 86, of Providence, passed away Monday, October 17, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Valletta) Tortalano. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Domenico and Angelina (DelMonico) Tortolano.
Guido was a truck operator for Shaw Motors and was a member of the Teamsters Union, local 251. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was a founding member of the Highland Rod and Gun Club of Foster. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a communicant of Holy Cross Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves a sister, Eleanor Albanese and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Vincent Tortolano.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence. Visitation Friday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
