GRACE A. CARCIERI, of Cranston, formerly of Providence, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Rose (Mauro) Carcieri.
She had worked for City of Providence Water Supply Board and was a receptionist at the Providence Civic Center. She liked to read and enjoyed good music. A lover of fashion, she enjoyed sewing and made all her own clothes under the watchful eye of her mother who was a seamstress. Besides being a member of the RISD Museum of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Grace was also a former member and President of the RI Council of Italian Women Junior League and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Providence.
Grace loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed her cousins and friends. She leaves four nephews, Donald Carcieri, Stephen Carcieri, Herbert Mehlhorn and David Mehlhorn; three nieces, Janet Pinzari, Susan Thomas and Linda Mehlhorn; and ten great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anthony N. Carcieri, Albert Carcieri and Concetta Mehlhorn.
Her funeral will be held, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd., Cranston. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION MONDAY 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Charity Appeal, One Cathedral Square, Providence, RI 02903.
