Gladys Mendillo

Gladys Mendillo (DiPiro), 84, of Providence, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo A. Mendillo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary ( Ballaro) DiPiro.

Gladys had been employed as a sales clerk in the fabric department of Zayres and Ames in Warwick until her retirement. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra L. Arnold of Pawtucket, Mary Ann Charbatji of North Smithfield and JoAnn Laurito of Johnston; three sisters, Rose Lombardi, Josephine Pensotti and Yolanda Rose; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William A. Mendillo, Sr. and the sister of the late Lawrence DiPiro and Isabel Calitri.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Paul Church, Cranston. VISITATION Monday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to St Paul Church Memorial Fund, One St. Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02905.
