Gilda C. Ferria (Mazzei), of Providence, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John P. Ferria. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Potito and Incoronata (Petruzzi) Mazzei.
Mrs. Ferria worked for General Electric – Providence Base Plant for over 32 years before retiring in 1999.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother she is survived by four daughters, Deborah A. Mello and her husband Gerald, Joan M. Ferria, Maria L. Verardo and Darlene K. Ferria; five grandchildren, Leo McKendall, Michael Verardo, Kyle Terzian, Christopher Verardo and John Terzian; and two great grandsons, Braydon and Christopher, Jr. She was the mother of the late John Paul Ferria and the sister of the late Nunzio, Michael, Mario and Armando Mazzei, Pauline Rivelli, Lucy Pietropaolo and Maryann Weinstein.
Her funeral and burial will be private.
