GEORGE Grieco, 89, of Providence, passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Petteruti) Grieco.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Serafino and Stella (Nocera) Grieco.
George had been employed as a custodian at Miriam Hospital until retiring in 1998 and had previously worked as a clerk in Nocera’s Market. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was stationed in North Africa. He was also Past President of the Elmhurst Lions Club.
Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by a brother, Ralph Grieco and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Louis Grieco and Santella Grieco.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Pius Church, Eaton St., Providence. VISITATION Sunday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
