Frank Catanzaro, 94, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie (Velleco) Catanzaro. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Bartolomeo and Elizabeth (Ferrara) Catanzaro.
Frank was the owner and operator of Catanzaro’s Fruit and Produce and later worked for B.I.F Industries. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and recipient of the Bronze Star.
He is survived by his daughter, Maryann Gaudiana and her husband Anthony Gaudiana, Sr.; a brother, Henry Catanzaro; three sisters, Nina Zanni, Celia Gaary and Viola Marchisio; three grandchildren, Jennifer Gaudiana, Anthony Gaudiana, Jr. and Alicia Gaudiana and three great grandsons, Joseph, Justin and Jarred. He was the brother of the late Salvatore Catanzaro.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 901 Atwells Ave., Providence. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
