FLORENCE NELSON (DeSANTIS), 87, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Cra-Mar Meadows. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Nelson, Jr., former Lt. with the North Providence Police Dept. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Mariano and Maddalena (Muri) DeSantis.
Florence had worked as a supervisor for the former F. Ronci Company. She was a member of the North Providence Senior Citizens and loved to cook and play cards. She leaves a son, Dennis J. Nelson and his wife Cheryl, a sister Jennie DiGianfilippo and three beloved grandchildren, Brad, Brian and Kristen Nelson.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 11am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in St. Lawrence Church, Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence. VISITATION Thursday, 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
