Filomena Viola San Antonio

Filomena Viola San Antonio, 88. Secure in her faith and in the loving embrace of her family gathered at her bedside, Viola entered eternal life on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of the late Guiliano and Jennie (Rossi) Buonaiuto. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred, of 63 years. She was a graduate of St. Xavier's High School.

Hers was a life of intense nurturing relationships. As a daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, she touched many lives. Cooking was her art.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie San Antonio with whom she lived in Providence, her son, Richard San Antonio, MD and his wife Pamela San Antonio, MD of Warwick, RI, her granddaughter, Marianne San Antonio, DO and her husband Michael Vest, DO of Wallingford, CT, her grandson Geoffrey San Antonio, PhD and his wife Sheeba San Antonio, JD of Alexandria, VA, and her grandson Michael San Antonio, JD of Warwick, RI.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30AM from Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence, RI 02909. Burial will follow in St Ann Cemetery, 72 Church Street, Cranston, RI. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Holy Cross Church, Providence, RI.
