Ms. Filomena P. Lupo "Mena"

Filomena “ Mena” Lupo, 65, of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, July 24, 2013 at the Phillip Hulitar Home and Hospice Care, Providence. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the Late Luigi and Matilde (Miale) Lupo and devoted sister of the late Angelo Lupo.
She was a Senior Programmer/Analyst for the Massachusetts State Police Executive Office of Public Safety and Security in Framingham, MA. She is an Alumna of Classical High School, Rhode Island College and she received her master’s degree in Public Administration from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.
Filomena was a lifelong resident of the City of Providence and an unwavering supporter of many neighborhood groups and charitable organizations. She was an active Parishioner at the Church of St. Mary. She was a board member of the Nickerson Community Center, the Federal Hill House Association, a member of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association and Federal Hill Community Coalition.
She was the loving sister of Eva Lupo and loving Sister in-law to Estelle Lupo. She was the loving Aunt of Joseph Lupo and his wife Joanne, Richard Lupo and his wife Melanie. She was the cherished Great Aunt to Alex, Angelo and Ryan Lupo.
Her Funeral will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Church of St. Mary, 538 Broadway, Providence. Visiting Hours will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 from 4 – 7pm. Burial will be held at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
