FILOMENA “PHYLLIS “ LISA (ALMONTE), 97, of Providence, Rhode Island, died peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2013. She was the wife of the late Columbo “Carl” Lisa. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John Almonte and Christina (Santucci) Almonte.
Phyllis was a longtime office manager at Automotive Service Corporation in Providence and had been an active member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Women’s League and the Salvatore Mancini Residence and Activity Center. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her son Carl B. Lisa, Sr. Esq. and his wife Maryann; granddaughter Renee Lisa and grandson Carl B. Lisa, Jr. Esq.; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Slaimen and Viola DeLuca and one brother, John Almonte. She was the sister of the late Alfred Almonte, Gina Perrotta, Ernestine Russo, Raymond Almonte and Enrico Almonte and the grandmother of the late David John Lisa.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Visiting hours are from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, July 15. Interment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
