Evelyn Riccardi Penta

Evelyn Penta ( Riccardi), of North Providence, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center of Rhode Island surrounded by her loving family. The Lord called her home on August 25,2012. She was the beloved wife of Anthony “Tony” Penta, daughter of the late Giuseppe Riccardi and Beatrice Fargnoli Riccardi.

She is survived by her sister Elvira Cicerchia. She was also the sister of the late Carmino and Jake Riccardi, Angelina Riccardi, Elena Tomassi, Mafalda “Muffy” Simeone ,and Vincenzo Riccardi, her surviving brother in laws Peter Simeone and George Penta . She leaves her beloved children, Steven Penta and his partner Lori Anter, Anthony Penta and his wife Karen, Jeanie Penta DiFante and her husband Giulio; her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Penta and his wife Angela, Carla Penta Reyes and her husband Jerges Reyes, Krista Penta Lussier, MD and her husband Keith, Gabriel Penta and mother Pamela Dickson, MD, Jude, Samuel and Gabriella DiFante, and two cherished great granddaughters Maria and Eva Penta.

She leaves behind two special cousins, Gina and David Valente and many loving nieces and nephews. Also her life long friends, Shirley and the late Bobby DelGizzo. Also two special friends Elaine Frances and Marie McCaffrey.

Evelyn was an avid Red Sox fan, and a fantastic gourmet cook. She was employed at Citizens Bank Operation Center in East Providence, Rhode Island for many years. She was a devoted mother and doting grandmother. Her family has cherished memories of her honesty, great sense of humor, and her generosity.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10 am from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Visitation WEDNESDAY 8:30 am - 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
