Eugene W. Cardente

October 2, 1923 — June 13, 2012

Eugene W. Cardente, 88, of North Providence, passed away, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre. He was the beloved husband of Esther (Hinote) Cardente. Born in North Providence, he was the son of the late Attilio and Mary (Scalise) Cardente.

Mr. Cardente worked as a service manager for Portland Transmission before retiring. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the Elks Lodge, Smithfield.

Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his cherished daughters, Mary Principe and Donna Domenicone; a brother, Joseph Cardente; a sister, Anna Forgetta; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Albert, Thomas, Salvatore “John” and James Cardente, Virginia Tiner, Louise Paolino and Angela Longo.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Visitation Monday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI 02914. _____________________________________________________________________________
