Ernest Iasimone

August 19, 1932 — September 1, 2014

Ernest Iasimone, 82, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Bartolini) Iasimone. They were happily married for 57 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Luigi and Josephine (Buonanno) Iasimone.

Mr. Iasimone was employed as a manager for Big G and Valueland Supermarkets for many years before his retirement. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed bowling. He was also an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Stephen Iasimone and his wife Lisa and Geri-Anne Vescera and her husband Frank. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Iasimone, Justin and Brandon Vescera. .He was the brother of the late Vincent and Benny Iasimone.

His funeral will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Avenue, Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday, September 3rd from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to: RI Chapter APDA, PO Box 41659, Providence, RI 02940.
