Emilio Mercadante

Emilio Mercadante “Mickey”, 86, of Providence, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Carmela “Cammie” (Prisco) Mercadante. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Santopadre) Mercadante.

Emilio was a salesman for several area manufacturers. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and served in the Pacific Theater of operations.

Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves his son, Joseph Mercadante and his wife, Lori; a brother, Michael Mercadante; a sister, Mary Cucca; two cherished grandchildren, Anjelica and Amanda and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence.
Calling hours respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, One State Street, Suite 200, Providence, RI 02908.
