Elvira A. Cicchitelli

Elvira A. "Vera" Ciccitelli (Ricci), 93, of Johnston passed away, Friday, November 18, 2011 at Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Hugo Cicchitelli. Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Domenica (Barbato) Ricci.

Alongside her husband, Elvira was co-founder of Mt. Pleasant Dairy, later known as Nature’s Best Dairy on Plainfield Pike in Cranston. She was a long standing member of the Federal Hill Lions Club, and had served on the Board of Directors for Blue Cross of Rhode Island.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, Allen Cicchitelli and his wife Lois; two grandsons Christopher and Nicholas Cicchitelli; and her sisters Mary and Dorothy Ricci. She was the sister of the late John Riccio, Michael Ricci, Annette Ricci, Anna Longo and Phyllis Maroun.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 8:45 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visitation Sunday 4-7 p.m. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum – St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Memory and Aging Research, Butler Hospital Funds Development Office, 345 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI 02906.
