ELMER J. PHILLIPS, 87, of Johnston, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late Angelina (Vispo) Phillips. Born in Pana, IL., he was a son of the late Charles E. and Dorothy (Fought) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was employed at Electric Boat for many years before his retirement and had previously worked for Guild Construction and The Outlet Company. He was a Navy Veteran, serving during WWII.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Ann Marie Levy and Donna M. Barlow. He is also survived by 3 grandsons, Stephen and David Levy and Jonathan Barlow and 2 great-grandchildren, Alexus
Levy and Kevan Kelsey. He was the foster father of the late Joseph St. Laurent and brother of the late Mervin and Donald Phillips.
Visiting hours will be held Friday Morning, August 29th from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
