Eleanor M. Schavone (Procaccini), 96, of Cranston, passed away peacefully at the Scandinavian Home on Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank E. Schavone and daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (Marrocco) Procaccini.
Born in Providence, she was a 1938 graduate of Classical High School. She worked at the family bakery (Procaccini’s) for many years as well as Uncas and Vargas manufacturing companies. She was a parishioner of the former St. John’s church in Providence where she participated in multiple sodalities and charitable events.
Eleanor is survived by her loving children, Peter A. Schavone (Marilyn), Robert F. Schavone (Jane), and Anne M. Marcaccio (Dr. Vincent). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Goff (Chris), Peter Schavone, Jr. (Julie), Andrew Marcaccio (Amanda), Vincent Marcaccio, Nicholas Schavone, and Zachary Schavone; her dear great-grandchildren, Bryce, Abagail, and Ellie; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank, Americo, and Anthony Procaccini.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday morning August 30th from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 99 Camp St., Providence.
