Eleanor Parisi, 90, of Johnston and formerly of Cranston, passed into eternal life on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Rhode Iland Hospital in Providence, after an illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Bennie Parisi.
She was born in Johnston, a daughter of the late Domenic and Julia (Marwell) Degidio. As a young woman, she lived in Johnston and was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church. After her marriage to Bennie, she moved to Cranston wher she lived many years and was a communicant of St. Rocco's Church. She had been employed in the textile indutry for several years. She also was a member of the Kelley & Gazzero VFW Post of Cranston.
Eleanor leaves her cherished daughter, Barbara A. Ricci, with whom she made her home and her beloved Grandson John G. Ricci Jr.of California. Eleanor also leaves 3 sisters, Katherine Petrosinelli and Viola LaBelle both of No. Providence and Irene Cerio of Warwick, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lillian Frezza, who passed away August 26, 2011, Elizabeth Frezza, Anna D'Orio, Florence Scopollitti, Raymond, Louis and Ernest Degidio. She was the Mother-in-law of the late John G.Ricci Sr.
Her Funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:15a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St. North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco's Church, Atwood Ave. Johnston. Visitation Monday 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
