Edward Vigliotti, 73, of Warwick, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edward and Marion (DeCubellis) Vigliotti.
Ed spent his career as a Registered Professional Engineer and served as the Association President. He was the owner and operator of Mt. Rainier Construction Co. of Warwick and worked as a Project Engineer for Parsons Corporation in the Middle East. Upon his return home he became the Building Inspector for the Town of South Kingstown until his retirement. He was a proud graduate of Classical High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering at U.R.I where he was a member of the Eta Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. He served his country in both the Army and the Army Reserve and was an avid golfer and a poker enthusiast.
He leaves four daughters, Pamela Walsh and her husband Michael, Christina Len and her husband Ted, Gina DiCenso and her husband David and Lauren Vigliotti; two brothers, Michael (Betty) and Joseph (Charlene) Vigliotti; a sister, Angela (Bob) Piacitelli; nine grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews and a longtime dear friend, Eleanor Gelacek.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick. Visitation Monday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be private. A donation in his memory will be made to the U.R.I. School of Engineering.
