Edmund J. Arsenault, 83, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Montanaro) Arsenault and the late Doris (Champagne) Arsenault. Born in Smithfield, he was the son of the late Phillip and Mary (Gallant) Arsenault.
Edmund had been a textile weaver for the Worcester Textile Company for 40 years. He was a member of Smithfield Senior Center and a parishioner of Holy Cross Church and was a WWII Army Veteran having served in Normandy.
Besides his wife of 34 years, he leaves five sons, Robert Arsenault and his wife Mea, Mark Arsenault, Denis Arsenault, Alan Arsenault and his wife Dottie and Keith Arsenault and his wife Kara; three daughters, Janice Santa Cruz and her husband Jun, Jean Arsenault and Judy Thalmann and her husband Brian; a brother Francis J. Arsenault; a sister Florence Farrell and seven grandchildren, Jason, Kori, Kendra, P.J., Mary, Laina and Cole. He was the twin brother of the late Edward J. Arsenault.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence. VISITATION Sunday 4-8pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Holy Cross Church Memorial Fund, 18 King Philip St., Providence, RI 02909 or to Hospice of Nursing Placements, Inc., 334 East Ave. Pawtucket, RI 02860.
