Dorothy A. Banti

Dorothy A. Banti (Gemma), of Providence, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Leo A, Banti for over 56 years and was a kind and loving mother and grandmother. She was the daughter of the late Hilda (Colonna) Gemma and Bernardo Gemma and was pre-deceased by her daughter, Donna Davis.

Dorothy was a Bank Teller for various Banks in New England and Virginia. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the St. Xavier’s Alumni Association. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with, and taking care of her family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Leo J. Banti; two daughters, Christina Banti and Victoria Durban and thee grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Erica Banti and Luke Banti; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Banti and two sons-in-law, Albert Davis and Warren Durban.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Adoption Rhode Island, 232 West Exchange St., Providence, RI, 02903, would be much appreciated.
