Doris B. McElroy (Bragg), 93, of North Providence, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late John F. McElroy. Born in Norwood, RI, she was the daughter of the late George and Clara (Harrison) Bragg. She was a resident of North Providence for 64 years.
Mrs. McElroy was a graduate of RI Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by the Providence School Department as a school nurse for 32 years and was a member of the RI Federation of Retired Teachers.
She leaves her beloved and cherished daughter, Doris McElroy, with whom she resided; her treasured and devoted, Debbie; a niece, Sandra Holzer and a nephew, Steven Brown. She was the sister of the late Sylvia Brown.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation Monday 4-6 p.m. Burial will be private.
