Dora Bigelli

Dora Bigelli (Campellone),96,of Providence passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11th, 2007 at Fatima Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her two sons, Joseph R. Comparone and Dr. Angelo J. Bigelli and her two daughter in-laws Jonny-Maria Comparone and Maureen Bigelli. She was the widow of Ralph A. Comparone and Angelo Bigelli. She also leaves four Grandchildren, Ralph Comparone, Joseph Comparone, Marissa Bigelli and Briana-Marie Bigelli and two great grandchildren, Alexa and Gianna Comparone. She was the sister of the late Dr. Peter Campellone, Gilda Lombardi, Mary Ciancaglini, Elvera Gazzero, Claudio Campellone, Ettore Campellone, Sirio Campellone and Adamo Campellone.

Dora was born in Italy, daughter to Alberto and Pasqua (DiIorio) Campellone, emigrated from the paese of Colli A Volturno, Caserta, in 1924 at the age of thirteen. She graduated from Esek Hopkins School. She worked at the Steere, Lorraine and Wanskuck Mills. Dora was a service attendant at the Admiral Plaza Laundramat for 18 years and then at Providence College Alumni Cafeteria for 20 years where she enjoyed the friendship of many co-workers and students until retiring in 2000. After retirement she remained active as a homemaker enjoying cooking, baking, traveling and attending all festive functions and activities for her children, relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Visitation Sunday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
