Donna M. Miller (De Santis), 66, of North Providence, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 8, 2010. She is survived by her son, Scott Miller of Ithaca, NY and her daughter-in-law, Teri. Born in Providence on February 5, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. De Santis and is survived by her mother Nina (Ricci) De Santis; her sister Pia Athas; brother-in law, Charles Athas and niece Bianca. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph De Santis and John De Santis and nephew Joe.
Donna worked as a medical assistant for many years. She loved films and was a voracious reader of American history. She also had a beautiful singing voice, an incredible sense of humor, was an energetic and entertaining story-teller and was loyal to her many friends. She personally cared for her elderly mother, Nina, for many years and visited her daily at Hopkins Manor Nursing Home in North Providence. She enjoyed Rhode Island food and was a lover of dogs, especially pugs. Donna was devoted and perpetually encouraging to her only son, Scott. He in turn remained devoted to her.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Visitation Monday, 5-7 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of RI, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906.
