DONALD J. VOAS, 77, of North Providence, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Antonelli) Voas. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph Voas, Sr. and Bertha (Lemieux) Voas.
Donald had worked for Star Market and Almacs for many years before retiring. He was an avid bowler.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward Voas and his wife Dorothy; two brothers, Robert and Paul Voas; two sisters, Elaine Ferreira and Lorraine Bills and one grandson, Alexander Voas. He was the brother of the late Raymond Voas, Joseph Voas, Jr. and Pauline Cabana.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Monday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Rhode Island, 1210 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, RI 02920.
