Domenic J. Antonelli, Sr., 58, of Providence, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Rose (Chevian) Antonelli and the late Carl Antonelli.

Domenic was working as a teacher in the Massachusetts School System and had previously taught and coached baseball at Mount Pleasant High School for 20 years before retiring. He was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University.

He was very proud of his children Casandra and Domenic Jr., coaching their various teams and attending many of their games. Domenic was an avid fan of baseball and a lifelong New England Patriots fan. He loved cats, enjoyed beaches on sunny days, the hotter the temperature the better and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his son, Domenic J. Antonelli, Jr.; his daughter, Casandra E. Antonelli; his brother, Steven Antonelli; and his sister, Deborah Barchi.

His funeral will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION SUNDAY 4-7 p.m.
