David J. DiOrio, 79, of North Providence, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Marsella) DiOrio. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfredo and Palmina (Sbardella) DiOrio.
David was the owner and operator of Pinto's Barber Salon in North Providence for 25 years. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, he had been a barber for 55 years.
Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves two sons, David J. DiOrio, Jr. and his wife Kathleen and Ronald A. DiOrio and his partner John Moretti; three brothers, Alfred, Edward and Ronald DiOrio and two grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor DiOrio. He was the brother of the late Richard and Luigi DiOrio, Catherine Acceturo, Concetta Folcarelli and Catherine DiOrio.
His funeral will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 8:45 am from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Matthew Church, Elwood Ave., Cranston. Visitation Friday 4-8 pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
