Conchetta Palombo “Connie” (Olivo), 86, of Penrose Street, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, December 19, 2007. She was the beloved wife of the late Tammaro “Tommy” Palombo.

Born September 18, 1921 in Providence to the late Nunzio and Grazia (Febrera) Olivo, she grew up in Silver Lake moving to Lymansville when she married in 1952. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Antonio and Teresa (Palombo) Palombo who she loved and with whom she lived.

Connie attended Central High School. Having to leave school to help support her family upon the death of her dad, she was proud to have received her G.E.D. in her 50’s.
When her children were all in school, she went to work at Ro-An Jewelry until her retirement at 69. She then volunteered at the Fruit Hill Day Center and also worked there.
She loved all people and had a special place in her heart for the elderly. She and her husband were involved in many charitable endeavors especially with the elderly.

She was a Parishoner of Our lady of Grace Church and was also a member of the North Providence Senior Center and years ago held many offices for the Lymansville Woman’s Club and her childeren’s PTAs. She and her husband were two of the founding members of the North Providence High School Parents for Football Association.
She bowled in a league for many years, sewed, knitted and crocheted. She rooted for the Red Sox, Patriots and PC Basketball. What she loved most was cooking for her family and just spending time with them.

She is survived by her children who will forever dearly love her: Terry Marcolivio and her husband Anthony “Marco”, Asst. Attorney General Thomas A. Palombo and his wife Kathy, all of North Providence and Mary Palombo and her husband Mark Jones of Warwick. She relished her role of Grandma to Nathan and Nicholas Jones and Noni to Mia and Sara Palombo. She is also survived by her brother John Olivo and his wife Mena of Cranston. She was the sister of the late Grace Catalfamo, Josephine, Frank, Anthony, Nino and Pat Olivo.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. VISITATION Friday 2-4, 6-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Our lady of Grace Church Memorial Fund, 4 Lafayette St. Johnston, RI 02919.
