Claire Piscione “Clara” (Di Paolo), of Johnston, passed away, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Roger Williams Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Guido Piscione. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Angelina (Iacobbo) DiPaolo.
Mrs. Piscione had worked at Uncas Manufacturing for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of the Manton Senior Center, a volunteer at the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital Gift Shop for 22 years and loved to travel.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Janet Claire Ferri and her husband Albert V.; a son, Robert Piscione and his wife, Sandra; a brother, Frank DiPaolo, Jr.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Anthony, Phillip B., Phillip A. and Antonio DiPaolo, Antonetta Apicerno and Mary DiPaolo.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
