Claire J. Magno (Ouellette), 77, of Providence, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Magno. Born in Nashua, NH, she was the devoted daughter of the late Odiose and Florida (Duchesneau) Ouellette.

Claire had worked for the University of Rhode Island - College of Continuing Education for 25 years before retiring in 1996. She loved reading, cooking and gardening but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her love, compassion, sense of humor and her strength and courage.

She leaves her cherished children, Arthur P. Magno and his wife Patricia of Cranston and Nancy L. Zeppa and her husband Lawrence of Providence; five treasured grandchildren, Joseph A. and Jocelyn M. Magno, both of Warwick and Evan A., Derek A. and Arthur J. “A.J.” Magno, all of Cranston; her dear brother Earl O. Ouellette of Carson City, NV; several loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and her favorite dog Buster. She was the mother of the late David A. Magno, former mother-in-law of the late Kathleen M. (Killoran) Magno and the sister of the late Lucille T. Ouellette.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. VISITATION Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1150 Pontiac Ave. Suite 1. Cranston, RI 02920.
