Christine Vellucci (Pirozzi), 94, of North Providence, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Cortland Place in Greenville. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Vellucci. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna (Mottola) Pirozzi.
Christine was a Clerk at the Turnkey Post Office in Providence for 14 years before retiring in 1979. A multi-linguist, she also spoke Italian, French and German.
She leaves her cherished children, Tony J. Vellucci and Dahlia Gentile and her husband Harold and her two dear sisters, Carmella “Millie” DiIorio and Grace Ardillo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Broadway, Providence. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, Providence, RI 02909.
