Chandra Y. Rodrigues Capasso, 50, of Providence passed away, Friday, May 28, 2010 at Woman & Infants Hospital. She was the wife of Francis H. Capasso. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of Bennie Woods and Lucy Rodrigues.
Chandra was a teacher for the Providence School Department, having taught at Brigham Middle School, e3 Academy and the Gilbert Stuart Middle School.
Besides her husband and parents she is survived by two sons, Taure Rodrigues and Brantley “Corey” Rodrigues; a daughter, Antonia Rodrigues; four brothers, Roe Rodrigues, Roscoe Baker, Jr., Michael Woods and Hondo Woods; Nine sisters, Dawn, Michelle, Donnette “Tracy” and Thaeda (Titi) Rodrigues, Bernita and Storm Woods, Marie Benford, Jackie Bailey and Tabatha Harrington; and five grandchildren, Dalton, Mersadyse, Lawson, Arianna and Ameliya Rodrigues.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius Church, Eaton St., Providence. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
