Carole A. Hughes (Barranco), 74, of Bristol, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late William D. Hughes, Jr. Born in East Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Deveau) Barranco.
Carole was a Pharmacist Technician for RI Group Health Association. She was a Hockey Coach for the North Providence Youth Girls Hockey Program and was an Officer of the North Providence Figure Skating Association.
She leaves four sons, William D. Hughes III, Richard J. Hughes, Michael J. Hughes and Robert P. Hughes; a sister, Jane Cohoon and eight grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Grace Stockbridge.
Her Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
